Make Poverty History logo Making poverty history

A coalition of UK charities (including Project Peru), trade unions, campaigning groups and celebrities, who came together in 2005 to demand that rich countries increase aid and make it work better for poor people, cancel world debt and change the rules of world trade so that they favour the interests of the poor. The coalition was part of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty, a worldwide movement that came together at key points during 2005. Project Peru was part of the campaign to make poverty history in 2005. Other specialist coalitions and networks will, from 2006, build on the collective strengths of the Make Poverty History campaign by continuing to campaign on their specific issues.
